I got a 1320 on the May 2019 SAT (640 Reading, 680 Math), but only a 1260 on the October 2019 test (570 Reading, 690 Math). The colleges that I am applying to super-score the tests, meaning my score would be 1330 (640 Reading - May, 690 Math - October). I am not sure if it is worth sending both scores and getting a 10 point increase. I am worried if the officer would be put off upon seeing the decrease in the reading score in October. Is 10 points worth this risk? Plz advise.
Superscore means superscore. It doesn’t mean superscore but surreptitiously look at all the scores so we can really &$@#%*$ these applicants.
Send both.
Generally, the AO’s will only see the superscore results.
Also, only have the scores sent if they require an official submission. Many schools allow you to self report and only require official scores if accepted.
When applying to most colleges and universities, sending all your scores can only help you. The majority of colleges are not interested in looking at multiple test scores and identifying trends in testing. They will consider one test score in your application. By sending all of your scores, you allow colleges to “super score”. Colleges take the best sections across multiple test dates and combine them together for a revised composite score. Keep in mind, though, that while most colleges “super score” the SAT, far fewer “super score” the ACT. Make sure to call your institution to see how they use your scores.
