Sending Score Reports

I'm applying ED to Cornell and am looking into sending my score reports like this weekend. First of all, does it matter if I send the score reports before I send the application? Second, do I need to pay to have the reports rushed since it's just over a week until the Nov. 1 deadline?

bump Anybody know how this works?

I don't think it matters, from what I've heard colleges stick everything received from an applicant into a folder that isn't reviewed until everything is there. It depends on the college for rushed reports, I know for BU they don't accept rushed reports but they will accept my Oct SAT test scores. I'm applying ED there.

Ah okay. So it shouldn't be a problem that they probably won't get my score report until after Nov. 1?

just play safe and ask them, since this is your ED college, might as well make sure every single detail goes as planned

All colleges need to have Testing and scores sent before the deadline. They cann reach later. Although Cornell is a pain in the ass admission centre.. disorganaized as hell.. so I advise calling them

I guess there is nothing I can do about it. I'm sending them $70 to read my application which will be on time. If they have trouble with the score reports then there really is nothing I can do since the score report sending is out of my hand even if I rushed because rushed reports don't even have the full report on them and I don't wanna spend an extra $20. I'm hoping worst case scenario is that they call me/e-mail me saying they don't have it.

they need to actually have the scores in the mail by nov 1 or you need to have the request in to collegeboard by nov 1?

ask Cornell how they receive their reports

Large schools often get a weekly package of reports from College Board and do not even accept rush reports.

No, quite a few places allow November testing for ED/EA. For instance, Cornell itself allows November SAT testing (but not ACT testing -- that has to be no later than October). http://admissions.cornell.edu/apply/firstyear/early.cfm

(But don't feel bad, Antarius. I said the same thing myself and someone corrected me -- even had a long list of schools that accept November testing. It seems like what you said should be true, but it isn't.)

Given this, I doubt there is a need to rush anything, mikeyc765. But if you are concerned, just ask Cornell directly.

Also, there is no problem sending score reports before applications.
