Sending Score Reports

OK, i have two questions regarding sending your score reports. So I heard from my counselors that this year, there is an option when you submit your application that allows you to let all UCs you applied to share your statistics such as your SAT scores so there is no need to send your scores to all of the ones you applied to but just one. Is this true? And is it ok if I send my score reports after the application due date? Perhaps December 1st or 2nd. Thanks.

There is a plan to allow applicants to report their scores to the UC system rather than each campus, but to my knowledge it is not yet in place. From the UC admisions website as of today:

[University of California - Admissions](Apply now | UC Admissions)

Until there is an assurance FROM THE UC SYSTEM, I would send reports to all campuses to which you are applying. Good luck!

My S’s school just had a UC app workshop last week and his counselors said the same thing. After you submit, there is supposed to be some place that you can check to release your info to all UCs you are applying to. They said you can send your test score to any UC of your choice and it will be released to all the UCs. S hasn’t submitted his app yet so I don’t know for sure.

I searched every where on UC web sites and UC app instructions. I did not find anything that mention you can do that. What I found is the same as what alamemom pointed out.

Should we contact them and ask?

I think you should submit scores to all campuses to which you are applying. Soon. It is so close to the deadline asking them now - when they are overwhelmed with questions - might not generate a response until it is too late.

If you prefer to take your chances that submitting it to just one campus will work, I suggest submitting it to your safety campus, in case that is the only one that gets it.

About submitting it on December 1st or 2nd, is that too late?

concur with alamemom: send to all campuses to which you apply. UC accepts the Dec tests, so yes you can submt in Dec.

S submitted his app. There were many questions after clicking submit but none that says release your info to other UCs like his counselor said. Nothing abuot being able to send scores to one UC and they will all get them. Unless money is a big issue, I agree with others to just send to each UC. Then you know for sure.

On the college admissions forum, poster xRavenx92 posted a link today that finally verifies that you can send SAT/ACT scores to just one campus and they will be received by all campuses.

Thanks for finding this xRavenx92!

Here a link that says you only have to send to one.

Report your test results.
You may self-report your SAT and/or ACT results in the application, and you also are required to submit official test scores. Please order score reports from the testing agency no later than December 2009 for fall 2010 admission. If you have an official score report sent to one campus, it will be shared with all campuses to which you apply.
