Sending scores - clarify please?

So i did pretty well on my SAT (i did take it twice.) I also took the ACT once. It was a terrible day for me; I didn’t do awfully, but it could have been a lot better.

Just to clarify, it is okay for me to not send my ACT score to any college, right? All i have to do is send my SAT scores, and no one will ever know that I took the ACT at all?

There are a few colleges that require all scores, not many, but you need to check each college admissions pages.

Thank you, I will definitely check for each college. How will they know that I took the ACT if I don’t submit my score?

You need to determine what your high school puts on your official transcript that is sent to colleges when you apply for admission. Many put all your test scores on the transcript and thus a college could learn your ACT score that way. A second possibility depends on where you live. In a number of states, all high school students are required to take the ACT as part of the state’s compliance procedures for No Child Left Behind laws. Those tests are typically given on different days than the national ACT tests. Thus, if you live in one of those states, the college will know you likely took the test.

Colleges that require “complete testing history” specifically state it so on their website.
Penn requires applicants to submit their entire testing history. If applicants have taken both the SAT and the ACT, they must submit their testing history from both exams. Penn will pay attention to the highest scores from any test when reviewing a candidate’s application, but having the complete testing profile provides deeper insight.

@HereToHelpYou So, just to clarify, I will have to submit my ACT score to Penn as well?

Yes.

What other schools have this policy? I am not aware of them and I would like to know.
