Now another thing. Ok, im taking the SAT during december but its like a practice just to see what i can do and everything...and on the website, it asks if i should send them to universities and i put some down, but im not sure if i should do that cuz im just considering this one as "practice"....but dont they take the top scores from all three times i take it? Honestly, the December one is just from practice to see where I'm at...then I'll take it again January 28th and then again April 1st...

Help!!221312321

they will see it one way or another lol

yeah they will eventually see the score because once you decide to send your scores collegeboard sends the scores for every test you've ever taken. so there's really no such thing as a "practice"

Don't send it...I assume you're a junior, so do you even know what schools you're applying to? And you're going to have to resend anyways after you've taken all your tests, so why send now? They probably won't even make a folder for you,s eeing as you won't have submitted your application yet.

But I'm a high school junior taking the SAT. You guys still havent answered my question....so the place where it says "List the Universities that will receive this score", I should leave blank?

yes...10 characters

HUH? What does that mean?

it means yes you should leave it blank.

http://www.geocities.com/thegame2388/crap.GIF

go there..thats the page im talking about...

i know what site you're talking about. just leave it blank. colleges wont even keep you scores since you're a junior. so just leave it blank. you can send all your scores when you're a senior and have taken all your tests. but really dont worry. whether you send them or not, colleges wont look at or evaluate them because you're a junior.

YES YOU SHOULD LEAVE IT BLANK. YOU ARE ONLY A JUNIOR, AND KNOW NOT TO WHICH SCHOOLS YOU WILL BE APPLYING. FURTHERMORE, YOUR SCORES WOULD BE THROWN OUT UPON RECEPTION, BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A FILE AT THE SCHOOL, AGAIN BECAUSE YOU AREN'T APPLYING YET. FINALLY, YOU WOULD HAVE TO RESEND THE SCORES AFTER YOUR NEXT TESTS, SO TO SEND BEFORE YOU ARE COMPLETELY DONE IS ESSENTIALLY A WASTE.

Clear enough for you?

njpitcher... you're correct about the junior part, but the schools do keep your sats...

ok thanks u guys... leave it blank it is.

It doesn't matter whether or not you leave schools to receive your score blank. Colleges WILL see your SAT score when you send your later score -- they get ALL scores for ALL SAT & SAT II exams you take after 8th grade.

If you indicate schools, those schools you list will get these scores whenever college board finishes scoring & sends them out. My son always listed schools to receive his scores, even in his junior year & they were always schools he was interested in possibly applying to later. This usually puts you on their mailing list & generally they send you info about their school after receiving your score.

If you enjoy having your mailbox filled with relatively useless crap from 8 colleges a day, list colleges. And colleges generally get rid of information they receive if the person sending the information does not send an application. As a junior, he obviously won't be sending an application, and they know he'll be taking more tests. They have no reason to keep the scores.

And besides your college list is bound to change. I mean, when I was a junior, I had a very different list than I do now as a senior. And trust me, college mail might seem cool at first, but after the first 100 peices you'll see why everyone hates it so.
