Sending scores to colleges

Do you have to pay a fee for each SAT, ACT, and subject test you send or is it free?

If I am going to apply to 7 colleges and want to send them all of them all 5 tests I took, how much would this cost?

It will cost you. It sounds like you have all your scores. When you sign up to take an ACT test you can identify four colleges to receive the particular test you will be taking upon release of the scores for no extra charge. In the case of SAT you can identify four colleges in your test registration to receive scores upon release and it will send that particualr test and all prior SAT and subject tests you have taken for no extra charge. However, those four free sends for both ACT and SAT expire if not exercised before scores come out and thus if you wait to send test scores after you have seen the scores, you must pay an extra fee per college.

For ACT, the fee is currently $12 per test per college if the test was taken in Sep 2013 or after; any tests taken before that date cost $34 to send. Thus, for example, if you have two ACT tests in the last year, you have to do two separate orders for $24 total to send both to any one college.

SAT is better. The cost of sending scores after they are released is $11.25 per college and College Board will send all your SAT and subject test scores in one order to a college. Thus, if you have two SAT test scores and two subject test scores, you can send them all to one college for $11.25

@drusba so should I wait to get all my scores and then sending them all together or should I send them one at a time.

Just to clarify, it will only cost me $11.25 per college not $11.25 per college per test, right?

For the SAT, you can send all SAT and subject test scores you have in one order for $11.25 per college.

You now mention waiting to get your scores whereas your original post implied you already had them. You may have a different issue now if you are applying to begin college in August 2016. Many colleges accept only through Decmeber tests and want all tests in their hands promptly after the app deadline. Others accept through the Jan SAT test but some of those still want any scores you already have shorly after the app deadline. Thus, you may need to send whatever scores you already have immediately and cannot wait for something like the January test scor4es to send scores.
