Sending scores to colleges

Hello,
Hope everyone had a good school year. I just got my AP scores, and I wanted to send them to colleges. There is an option to send scores to colleges, but it says that you have to pay money. I am thinking to just wait until I am closer to the end of high school (I just finished my freshman year), and then send the scores to colleges.

Is it possible to send your AP Scores that you got in the previous years of high school to colleges? Or do you have to send them as soon as you took them?

The real question is do you have to send them at all? And the answer is no.

AP scores are self reported on the application. You only send the official report to the college you will be attending. If you take an AP exam as a senior, you can select one college to receive your score for free by bubbling in the college code on your answer sheet and the college will receive scores from that year and all prior years (up to 4 years).

There’s really no reason to send AP scores until you’ve been accepted to a college and want o submit them for credit/placement your Freshman year.

If you want schools to consider them during the admissions process, though they really carry little weight, you can report the scores on your application. I’m not aware of any schools that require AP scores directly from CB as part of the application process (unlike SAT/Subject Test scores)
