<p>For sending SAT scores do they have to receive them before the deadline (in this case the 1st) or do they just have to be sent by the deadline? I'm uncertain whether I should purchase the rush delivery option on the collegeboard and for my family 30 dollars is a lot of money...</p>

<p>To avoid any delay in processing, I’d get them in ASAP. Typically, official scores must be in by the deadline. If you think they may get in later, contact the college registrar to see if there is any extension as your scores are in route.</p>
<p>With the demand in admissions, I wouldn’t risk simply postmarking by the deadline, ensure they get in.</p>
