Sending Scores?

How beneficial is it to send scores to colleges? I took my first SAT this past weekend and I am wary of sending my scores simply because I am unsure of how well I did. What if I send my score and it ends up being horrible? The colleges I want to apply to have high average SAT scores, and I don’t want to send a score before knowing what I got. On the other hand, if I send my scores at a later time, will that hurt me when applying in any way? What are the pros and cons of sending scores early/late? Thanks!

Hey there! I’m not sure what colleges you are planning to apply to, but the best option is almost definitely to send your scores no matter how well you feel you did. Most colleges look only at the highest SAT score you have (which you may already know), so it is the most beneficial to send scores every time you take the SAT. The college will use the one that is the most appealing.

It depends on your grade level right now. If you’re not in a rush, then don’t send them yet. (ie. freshman, sophomore, junior).
