Sending Scores ... ?

I've never applied to a university before and I don't fully understand what happens when you send standardized test results (SAT and TOEFL).

I'm taking my TOEFL next Saturday and the last day to change free score recipients is the day before the test. What happens if I send a TOEFL score report to a university I'm planning to apply but have not yet contacted? Do universities store the SAT or TOEFL score reports they get while they wait for the prospective student´s complete application?

If I have not contacted a university what will it do when its employees get my scores? How do I know if they get my score reports? ****, I'm going crazy with applications.

Incidentally, have any of you taken the TOEFL iBT? How hard is it in comparison to the writing and reading sections of the SAT? If I score 1400 on writing and reading on the SAT, how prepared am I for the TOEFL iBT?
(I Know this is not a TOEFL forum...)

Thanks

P.D I know all of you who took the OCT SAT are desperately waiting for the results. I, too, anxiously suffer ... (that's a bit dramatic)
Good luck !

I got a perfect score on my TOEFL (120). I honestly thought it was easy except the speaking part..but I managed it through.

I did get a 800 on my writing but not on the reading section... but the reading on TOEFL was somewhat easier..

thanks 8parks,

anyone has an answer to my question?

what happens if I send score reports to a university and have not yet contacted it?

The school either sets up a file for you based on the information from the score reports, or files the scores in a central file, waits until you apply, sets up your file, and then puts your scores in your file.

It happens all the time, and very few scores actually get lost.
