I'm a little confused about sending scores right now. I'm a rising senior. I just took the SATs and ACTs. I feel like I did better on my ACTs this year than last year. I still have time to pick 4 colleges to send my ACTs to, for free. What is the point of sending the scores this early, when I haven't even applied anywhere yet? Would I be better off just paying the money to send the scores, after I know what I got on them? I'm just confused about the timing of the whole thing, too. We don't really talk about applying to colleges at my high school. I thought I would just send the scores at the same time as when I'm applying to schools. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Bump. I’m in the same situation and would like to know as well.

I find it hard to believe no one has any input on this subject…

yeah. same. i didnt send any colleges my sat score, sat 2 scores, or my ap scores. yeesh.

i also looked online, but i didnt find anything. i hope someone posts something soon!

Take advantage of the four free and send to four schools that you anticipate applying to - maybe one of two of your safeties, a state school, one match and one reach that you are interested in at this time. When you actually apply to colleges (usually by a Oct/Nov deadline for early decision or early admission) and by Dec/Jan 1 for most for regular admission, you can pay the $9.00 fee for each additional ACT score to be sent to schools - check the web-sites when application time arrives, as some may want the scores sooner than Dec/Jan.

If you feel confident about your scores I would send them… I personally am waiting until I get mine back
