Sending subject tests to schools who don't ask for them? Sending just one?

I'm applying to some schools that don't require subject tests but are nonetheless really selective (Middlebury, Bowdoin).

I have one decent subject test score (USH-720), and one not so good (Lit-660). Would it be weird if I only sent USH? Should I send both? Neither?

Bowdoin is a test score optional college and that includes SAT. Thus, you can send whatever you want and it may be considered. Middlebury gives you options but requires either SAT, ACT, or three SAT IIs. It views those as distinct options and thus to have any real consideration given to SAT IIs, you need to send three, nevertheless you never know if some admissions officer may give them some thought even if less than 3. Though the 660 is not great, it is also not bad for either of those schools and thus if you send one you may as well send both.

Thanks for the reply. Anyone else?

concur with druba. the 700+ is a must send. Lit is a brutal test, so 660 won’t be a negative. Might as well send both.

Won’t hurt you, will only help you.
