Sending Supplementary Information

I've been waitlisted at STanford, and anyone else that's been waitlisted knows that Stanford is pretty strict about what supplementary materials you can send in- both during the regular application period and now that I've been waitlisted. It says to only submit a "one-page summary of your recent activities" (or something like that), but I want to send in 2 extra letters of recommendation that I feel would be really helpful to my application. The problem is, it kind of goes against what the university outlines in it's rules. During my initial application, I only sent in the two required recs from teachers; now I want to send recs from a doctor at a place where I interned and my sponsor for a health awareness program sponsored by the national institute of health. I think these two should reinforce my ECs and show that I'm "more than just good grades and SAT scores" and show my passion for medicine. Bottom Line: should I send the recs since they'll help my app, or should I follow the guidelines for stanford?

Oh and by the way- I have a friend that went there and graduated from my HS last year; he sent in a lot of extra stuff despite stanford saying to be careful of what you send. The difference is, that for waitlisted students, Stanford specifically states do NOT send , the _ being basically everything.

I'd say it's a good idea to follow Stanford's guidelines :)

They're there for a reason.

To give everyone an equal chance in the waitlist, they will probably ignore any additional letters you send. There's a small chance they will be annoyed that you disregarded their instructions; why risk it?
