Sending Test Scores to UC/CSU

  1. I know that UCs require all test scores sent to them, but do Cal States/Cal Polys as well? Or do you just report highest score?
  2. If they do require all scores, the on my UC and CSU applications, do I list all of my test scores in the test section, or just the highest ones that I want them to use?
  3. So if they don't require to list all on the app, should I put a 30 ACT or 1420 SAT?

You are incorrect that UCs require all scores to be sent to them, see discussion here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1935358-sat-act-scores.html#latest The CSU’s (including the Poly’s) have no all scores rule and you can provide whatever tests you want to provide. Note that the CSU’s supersore the SATs and thus it may be to your advantage to send all your SATs.

As to the app, its purpose is to see if you have a score which, along with your course grades/UC GPA, indicates you meet the minimum qualifications to be admitted to a UC and you can put any test or tests you want to provide. The UCs will then use your official scores from the testing agency to actually determine admission.

Cal Poly SLO will also superscore the ACT.
You only need to send SAT or ACT scores, but until all UC’s confirm that not all scores are needed for SAT or ACT, I would send them to be safe unless costs are prohibitive. UCLA may have confirmed they do not want all scores, but I have seen confirmed from the other UC’s with the statement.
