Sending Test Scores

I'm looking to send off my ACT scores to my colleges (and two SATIIs to the colleges that require them).

My counselor has a system of "blue sheets," that we are supposed to use; we fill out the school name and the test scores, recommendations, and transcripts we want sent.

However, I know that we are technically supposed to request official score reports from the testing agency. This would get very expensive, though. Does anybody know if schools will accept an official score report from my counselor, or do I have to request one from the testing agency?

Does it vary from college to college?

It varies. Many top schools that require official reports will accept one official report that satisfies the testing requirement and allow additional scores to be sent in unofficially (i.e. through your high school or self-reported).

Is there any way I can find this info for each college? I’ve checked a couple of the websites of colleges I’m applying to and haven’t found anything.

Thanks.

Check the FAQ on the college’s website. If you can’t find it online, then calling the admissions office is your best bet.

Okay, thanks!

Okay, so this will sound dumb, etc but I really need it answered.

I have taken the SATI twice, the ACT three times, and three SATIIs in one sitting All my colleges allow me to submit the ACT instead of the SATI, but several require two SATIIs instead.

I am allowed to only send two of my SATIIs then, right? Like even if they have an ALL SCORES policy, I can omit one of my SATIIs since they only require two, right? Because my MathII score is abysmal compared to my Lit and US History scores, so I’d rather not send the MathII or the SATIs to any of my schools.

Thanks.

ScoreChoice only allows you to choose scores based on the sitting. Because you took all three SATII’s in one sitting, you have to send all or none.

Are you sure about that? I just went to see what sending the test scores would be like, and it let me de-select the SATII I didn’t want to send but keep the other two.

Let’s pretend that I happen to be right (not saying I am, though). What I’m asking is if a school doesn’t follow Score Choice, will they require me to submit all three of my SATIIs, or can I still submit just two of them? Since it’s not a situation where I took the same test on two different dates, but rather where I took different tests, I would think that I am allowed to omit one of my SATIIs, but maybe I’m wrong.

This is incorrect as far as I know. You can choose which subject scores you want to send regardless of the date; I could, at any rate.

All three subject test scores should be sent.

However, if a school requires only two SAT II scores, then it generally means that it officially looks only at your two best scores. Don’t lost sleep over your one low score if the other two are solid.

Well my Lit score is only slightly better - 10 points - than my MathII score, but since Lit is notorious for being one of the harder SATIIs (while MathII is relatively easy) it would be looked at in a better light I believe.

So I should send all three? If I don’t have to send the MathII I’d really rather not, because I didn’t get a chance to study for it at all and I could do so much better if I had a day or two to practice.
