Sending the ACT or SAT or both?

If you took both tests and you reported both scores on the UC application, is there a need to send both the SAT and ACT score reports? I have to send the SAT score report regardless to all my 4 UC schools since it has the required SAT II scores, but should I bother sending in the ACT score too (its a 29) when my SAT is a 1940? Isn’t there an advantage with percentiles?

They do this to your act score for UCs that are on the point system (basically, UCs other than Berk and LA):
[(math+read+science) x (2/3) ] + Combined E/W = SAT score

Percentiles does not matter, they will just see it as so and so amount of points. If I were you, I would send the ACT score report anyway, they will use the score that will benefit you more.

that formula sorta doesn't work

oh my apologies, i did not include the link for conversion. http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/paths_to_adm/freshman/scholarship_reqs.html on the bottom is where you can find it.

if it gives you a better shot, i'd say go for it. i spent in both simply because my ACT scores, using the conversion chart thing, was significantly higher than my SAT (33 vs 2090)
