Finally, feel like I’m pretty much ready to submit my UCAS app. I’m applying to Edinburgh, Queen Mary, UCL, KCL, and Oxford for English Lit. My question (just to feel totally confident)-do I have to send either my transcript or my test scores to any of these schools along with my UCAS or at any point?
After admission.
My daughter sent her AP and SAT scores to Edinburgh soon after UCAS went in. Edinburgh was one of her 2 top choices. When she accepted her unconditional offer, CAS came in within 24 hours, so we could deal with the visa. Uni did not have to wait for collegeboard to verify her scores.
protip: you can’t finish submitting your UCAS app until your GC has uploaded your LoR.
Good luck!
Yes- good luck and please keep the forum updated on your progress!
You certainly can send them whenever you want but ours is applying to 5 schools via UCAS and I am being told not to spend the money to send ot all 5 right now, but wait until admissions decisions are reached, then send to verify.
So with 3 weeks until the Oxford deadline what scores are you applying with and what will you have pending?
SAT CR: 780
SAT M: 690
ACT: 30
AP US History: 5
AP Language and Composition: 5
AP European History: 4
SAT II US History: 800
SAT II Lit: 700
Pending: SAT Lit (retaking), AP Statistics, AP Human Geography, AP Literature
@elguapo1 what do you think my chances are getting an english lit offer from King’s with those scores?
For Kings I am pretty sure you will get an offer, it maybe conditional on getting a 5 in AP Lit, and if they don’t mind two of the existing AP’s being history it will be unconditional. Just don’t say anything crazy in the PS like “my dream school is Oxford…” Let us know how you get on, you will start to get decisions drifting in 4-6 weeks after you submit. Good luck!
ps. 700 on the Sat II lit is plenty good except maybe for Oxford which is a different animal
I’m hoping my daughter will be ready to submit after cleaning up her personal statement this weekend. Want to hear back before Thanksgiving so we can plan visits to any school that accept/conditionally accept.
@elguapo1 do you think I should skip retaking the SAT lit-I would be taking it about the same time as the ELAT., so at least I’d basically be studying for the same exam.
As far as UK schools are concerned AP Lit would be more important, Oxford will be all about the ELAT.
