Hey everyone, as I’m sure we’re all aware, the deadline is Jan. 1. However, my school doesn’t resume until the 3rd. I don’t know of any other way to send them except for through my counselor, but I won’t be seeing him until the 3rd. What should I do? I don’t want to be late and not considered for admission.

Well considering that you had a lot time to tell your counselor
I would say you have bad odds.
You could only post your transcripts (if you have them) on the additional writing section
and then inform Amherst that your counseolr will send the materials later.
However, I do not know if they accept this, I would say no.
I recommend you to reach your counselor at home, be it through telephone
or going to his house in person.
If you do not know his telephone or address, find it out! Call everybody who could have either of them and hope.

By the way, is it the beginning or the end of the 1st? And which timezone?
Also, would you mind checking out the chance international student thread?
Hope this helps.

I’m pretty sure (like 100%) that as long as they’re sent within a reasonable amount of time (3 days is reasonable) your chances won’t be hurt since it’s not actually YOU that’s sending the recs and transcript. Just make sure your actual application is on time!

You are just fine. Many transcripts and teacher recs come in weeks late and it doesn’t matter until the reviews are done.
