Quick question, so is it okay if my school sends my transcript and it gets to the college/university about a week before I actually submit my online application?

Probably.
But try to minimize that gap time between transcript/sec. school report and your app. At least submit the CommonApp part, or any part that you can, if you can't get in the entire app (so they can start a file for you prior to receiving the transcript). If not, it's not the end of the world. I'm sure there won't be any repercussions.

I was wondering the same thing. I want to work on my essay a little bit longer, but don't want to put off sending my school forms because they may not make it in time if I wait too long.

I don't know if it's okay or not, but almost everyone I know has done it that way. They sent in the paper materials (teacher recs, transcripts, etc.) well before they finished their Common App. They wanted time to work on their essays, but wanted the other stuff in safely ahead of the application deadline.

My son did it too. He got his Common App submitted a couple days before the ED deadline (today), but he's had transcripts, letters, test scores, etc. coming in starting from about a month earlier. It hasn't seemed to be a problem. I talked to the admission office recently and they told me everything was in his file.

They e-mail you once you start the supplement even if you haven't mailed the CommonApp. At least Harvard did, even though I only wanted to take a look at the form and I'm not really applying. Maybe they start a folder for you once you start their application?

i heard that you should send in the supplement before the common app, is this true? for the colleges that do require one i mean.... but like i am planning on submitting the supp then the common app right after so thats fine right
