So I'm starting to send my transcripts out now, though I'm not sure how I should go about doing so. Right now I have a long list, difficult to minimize for now, so I'm thinking on whether I should send transcripts out to say about 7 schools, and later maybe in December see about the other set of universities I would like my transcripts sent to.
Would this be a great ideal, or should I request my counsler to send my transcripts out all at once?

Just send them out when you apply.

this may be a silly question, but how to you send out your trascripts if you are sending out the common app online?

If you’re using the common app, there’s a section (school forms, or something like that) where you can “invite” your guidance councilor to download / fill out recommendations and send transcripts online.

^that, or they can use snail mail also.

also, my state sends transcripts electronically to all instate schools (public or private), so check for stuff like that

No I’m not using common application, the only way my transcripts can be sent is me giving a list to my counsler. I’m more decided on just giving m counslers the list of universities I’m likely to apply to now ( since others have early decision through december, or delaying on applying there before December etc…) as in before Decemeber.

why not give the list to your counselor … when you actually apply. Since you kind of … need to have them do the rec letters.

Yes, few of the schools in my first set of transcripts require counsler recommandations. I guess I will try to at least get a good 7 transcripts sent by Friday.

Just remember to give your counselors PLENTY of notice. It took my school over a week and a half to actually send my transcripts. And all they have to do is put the transcript in an envelope (that we’ve addressed and stamped) and drop it into a slot right next to their desks!

wow really I thought they send transcripts through online source

I think 2 months is plenty of notice, even if you mail by the pony express.
