Sending Tuition to Bursar by Mail

I'm sending my check for the tuition payment by mail, and i wasn't sure what they meant by "include the top portion of your statement" because there isnt a perforated mark or anything, do they just want the top part with your name and address or the everything-- including the balance $$ amount...

ahh im sending it in a few minutes. immediate replies would be helpful

why not use the online check?

well, i'm not just because my parents are old fashioned. i have the check with me

copy the whole page and send the school the original and keep the copy ... then they definately have what they need and so do you

thanks 3togo

does it cost extra to do it online?

no...
if you use credit card
they charge you $1.50 per $100

but for online check, it's free...

can't you pay the bill in person? I'm going to manhattan in a few days.

I think you can...

I've sent two different checks (one from mom, one from dad) and neither of them included the statement. You just have to make sure your name and student ID (the N...... number, not your online ID) are on it and wha-la...it's in your account.

still somewhat related but....how do credits work?
i.e. i got a small yearly outside scholarship that i reported to nyu about two weeks ago, but it hasnt showed up on anything yet, so we're looking at paying and then when the scholarship place sends nyu tuition money, will nyu pay it to us or what?

You have to request that they refund the overpayment (an email is fine) and you can have a check sent or they will direct deposit if you provide the bank account number.
