Updated transcripts just went out to UT-Austin at my school. Could anyone tell me if they will like these grades or not?

Calculus: 82
AP English: 88
AP Biology: 90
AP Biology Lab: 90
Honors Spanish 4: 91
Peer Helper Training: 96
Asian Studies: 95

My school does not do GPA on 4.0 scale. This boosted my overall GPA in high school weighted from a 91.06 to a 91.66 and from an 89 unweighted to a 89.25. My GPA unweighted for the semester was a 90.31 and 94.92 weighted. Will this increase my chance for admission?? I am OOS.

Who knows. It really is hard to say. You do have to realize that there are a multitude of kids out there with equal to, and in many cases, more rigorous course loads, coupled with grades in the straight mid-90’s. It is going to be all about your essays and what you bring to the table.

Yes, those grades would definitely help you!

depending on your major, that calc grade is pretty low but all the others are great

my first choice major was the college of natural sciences and my 2nd choice was the college of communication

will my calc grade affect me for those major choices, or will those grades only have positive effects for me?

Does UTexas request first marking period grades from your senior year?

Yeah they’ll see first semester grades but not second semester until later on (after you have been admitted or not)

Well thing is that my guidance counselors require us to tell them when to send transcripts and if we need to send 1st marking period grades. I didn’t think UT wanted them, but should I wait now until mid-February and if I get in send my midyear report or have my guidance counselors send my 1st marking period grades asap?

I don’t know if you have time guru, because they set the updated transcripts deadline for January 31st.

Rank updates: Summer/fall applicants may submit updated official transcripts after the deadline to show changes to class rank following the first semester of the senior year. Updates must arrive in the Office of Admissions by January 31. (Updates are accepted only for applicants whose applications were otherwise on time.)

UT doesn’t care about senior year grades, quite frankly. They won’t hurt or help you.

My status says they got my new transcript with senior year grades on it. That seems stupid that they would just disregard my grades from a year where it’s a very hard course load. I’m not so sure I buy that.
