Senior, and I went to my first dance in high school yesterday.

grinding= my worst nightmare.

My school doesnt have dances, we have "banquets". Its quite disappointing.

But imo... it's all just hype. We spent loads on dress, makeup, and other "accessories". It wasn't worth the money I spent but to miss a last chance to be with your high school friends one more time, I guess it more than makes up for it...

I dont understand why girls bother looking all nice, especially since the gym is pretty dark during dances.

Planning dances are a complete waste of effort. Last year when I was in ASB, we spent 5 hours in the morning setting up decorations. During the actual dance, it was dark and no one really cared about the decorations. Also, the monday afterwards, we took everything down and threw most of the stuff away.

I'm sad, I'm forced to go to our homecoming dance because I'm on court and in ASB. I'd much rather stay home and relax before the SATs, but NOOOO, people had to vote for me....*******, I don't even have a date yet.

haha. consider that a complement. lol.

I like dances because it's a chance to just get loose and crazy. I also like grinding, even though I'm a girl. Most people at my school do.

At my school, no one likes homecoming, but everyone loves prom.

Homecoming usually has a DJ that plays only hardcore rap, and whenever we get a decent band, there usually is a DJ v Band battle, and the DJ wins because apparently people rather grind than do a slowdance or anything. (This years' theme was Throughout the Decades, and the idea was to play songs from the '50s to the '90s but despite the protest of so many people in Student Council, we got a DJ that played only rap.)

Everyone loves Prom though. It's thrown by our Junior class and it's pretty chaotic organizing it. Tickets can only be sold to upperclassmen and the cost of Prom is around $25,000. We have it in the courtyard of this art museum with tons of decorations. The music at prom doesn't suck, so people actually dance as opposed to grind all night.

If your dances are like my school's homecoming, I completely understand not going to it. But if the school dance is like my school's prom, you should go, the experience is worth it.

i think a good mix of dancing and grinding is good. grinding can be fun, admit it. haha.

My school's the exact same way.

wow.. i didnt even know wat grinding meant until i searched it on urbandictionary.com
