Senior; ccu bfa mt

I am a senior in high school and I fell in love with Coastal Carolinas’ MT BFA program. I’m about to begin the application process and I am so overwhelmed, not knowing where to begin! I know I have to start preparing for my digital audition but I would really love some advice from someone on here on where to begin and how the program is and the school… I would love as many info about it as possible! (Even though I did sone extensive research already!) I’m so excited and nervous at the same time! I HOPE anyone can help :)

Also, what audition dates do any of you recommend? The on-campus November audition or the February audition? I plan on sending my Digital audition in October. Also, If I am called back, should I use the same audition pieces I used in the video audition for the on campus audition? I am curious.
Sorry for all the questions. I am just SO excited!

Since the pre-screening process is new, let me comment on that. I’ll let the current and former students do the rest.

We have no problem with you doing the same pieces for the pre-screening and the on campus auditions. However, based on the way we work there is some possibility that you will be given direction following the pre-screening. It isn’t unusual for our performance faculty to ask you to either prepare something else, or to be ready to do something more than what we’ve seen. For instance, it is normal for our Music Director to ask to see your book, and pick something out for you to sing. It is also fairly normal for the faculty to suggest some direction you may not have already considered.

Please, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me. Good luck in the process.

I am a current student happy to answer any of your questions! I’m a female, BFA Musical Theatre junior. There is quite a bit of information I have already posted about the program on College Confidential. I’d recommend going to my user profile and looking at my previous posts… but if you still have specific questions- please post them here! Or PM me if you think you would like to discuss something more privately. Hope to see you on campus soon!
