@looking forward- I just wish I had done that AND paid more attention to my grades =P

I edited my post after you first saw it- see^

UPenn- Low-reach. I honestly think youll be accepted
Georgetown- Match.
Yale- Reach.

Im not familiar with the others, so I only chanced you for the schools I’m slightly familiar with. I seriously think you’ll get in at UPenn, though.

Good luck!

@lookingforward- I’m really trying to use my scores to serve as a counterweight to my GPA, hopefully a ~2300 on this test
@allen thanks a bunch! ill need all the luck I can get =P

i strongly think that you have a shot at upenn for ed!
like how your sat score is balanced among each sections & solid ecs
good luck :)

going to bed soon
help is much appreciated =]
bumpppppppp!

Scores are good, but GPA is mediocre (for Ivies). ECs aren’t bad but don’t stand out.

Ahh so jealous of your SAT scores (but not that far away from yours) and the fact that you’re going to sleep soon. Senior year has made me sleep later than usual. Anyways, I’m not sure I can tell you what your chances are, but you have pretty solid ECs and Standardized Test Scores, except your GPA… but I don’t want to repeat what everybody else has previously stated. I’d say your chances are pretty good though [: Sorry for such a generic response.

UPenn(ED) - Low Reach
Georgetown - Mid Reach
Yale - Mid to High Reach
Schreyers - Match
Haverford - I’ve never heard about this school

The only thing that’s stopping you is your GPA, since these schools are highly selective and most of the applicants have very high GPAs.
I would write amazing essays and emphasize your ECs to outweigh your GPAs

You have solid ECs and your SAT score is also good, but your gpa may be problem. To answer your earlier question (Will they take my school’s grading system into consideration? (94-100 A, 90-93 B+, 86-89 B, etc), they will definitely take that into account while they are looking at your application. They don’t look at B+ or B-, but they will see that it is not like other schools where its 90-100 (A), 80-89 (B), etc. My school grading system is similar to yours, and our counselor told us that the school sends a personal statement with every application talking about our grading system and how rigorous our courseloads are. I think if you explain that in your essay and let them know, then you should be good for Georgetown and UPenn. Yale is an extreme reach because Ivies in general are crazy hard. Goodluck though!

Chance me back!

The colleges know where you rank from grade distribution data your school will give them. For Penn you’ll need to have a high rank, it’s especially important there.

What you need to keep on mind is that the acceptance number ED looks so much higher because it’s when they take almost all of the recruited athletes and legacies. While it’s a small bump aspen for the highly qualified, it does not mean they relax their standards in that round.

I would try to raise your scores for any shot. They are slightly below median and coupled with the low GPA make Penn a huge reach, especially coming from PA and being in the enormously competitive Asian pool.

All reaches (they are for everyone). Your scores are solid, and your ECs are good, but your 3.7 isn’t that impressive (even if you have taken rigorous courses…remember, there are SO many kids who do what you do with 4.0s)

From what I see, you’re pretty much set! Just write a really good essay and have really good teacher recs and you’re in. Yale might be a bit tough… but you still have a chance! I hope we both get in and meet each other haha! Good Luck!

GPA will in fact hurt a bit. however, your ECs seem really solid and if you emphasize your forensics accomplishments and others, they will be able to give you a much better chance. If you are approx in the top 10% of your class, ur gpa should be fine at upenn because they will compare it to others from ur school from the past

UPenn- Low reach
Yale- High Reach
Georgetown- High Match

id say ur in for all except the ives. haverofrd is tough too. Im predicting that youll get in everywhere except UPENN (yes yale)…(ivies are hard to predict) my brother was accepted to yale but denied from cornell AND columbia.

@JonLouis- wowzers lol just kinda curious- why would i get into yale but not penn? seems kinda weird =P

also- could i get some percentages (esp for penn/georgetown/yale) from future posters?
