Senior Chance Thread

<p>Hello CC just wondering if y'all had the time to chance a UT applicant. Here are the creds:</p>

<p>NY State</p>

<p>Academics:</p>

<p>GPA - Unweighted: 3.994 out of 4.6
GPA - Weighted: 3.994 (no weighted grades)
Class Rank: School does not rank but probably around 10-15%</p>

<p>Scores:</p>

<p>ACT: 30
ACT Writing: 10
SAT II U.S. History: 770
SAT II Biology - E: 680</p>

<p>Lots of honors classes
AP US last year: 5</p>

<p>Taking AP Spanish and Bio this year-recieved a B+ in both 1st quarter</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:</p>

<p>Significant Extracurriculars: Freelance writer-after quitting ski job after a year (I was not a skier but felt I needed to stay at least a year) I decided that I would and I do write for clients on the internet about a variety of topics</p>

<p>High ranking members of both the school science olympiad and newspaper with which I have been a part of for two years. </p>

<p>Have worked at a ski and bike shop for a year where I learned how to sell goods and to work as a technician</p>

<p>Started a dog walking business one summer two years ago to earn money due to inability to finding a job</p>

<p>Leadership positions: Peer Leader-Teach sophomore health classes and act as a role model for all students. Only 13 students per class are selected and must abstain from drugs and alcohol for the whole year</p>

<p>Athletic Status - list sport and your level: Out of school boxing competed on an amateur level currently spar and train 4/7 days a week.</p>

<p>Volunteer/Service Work: No specific one area
Volunteer work dispersed over several areas including teaching 1st graders about science for a week, participating in about five food drives, and helping organize a field day for fifth graders. About 67-100 hours </p>

<p>Honors and Awards: National Foreign Language Honor Society-highlights achievements and mastery in foreign language (Spanish)</p>

<p>Peer Leadership Program</p>

<p>College Summer programs: Westchester Community College Summer course on macroeconomics-recieved a 95</p>

<p>Other: 1st Quarter Grades:</p>

<p>A+ Psychology
A Adv Precalculus 12
B+ AP Bio
B+ AP Spanish
A English
A Health/Peer Leader (Teacher grades our ability to teach)</p>

<p>Applied to the college of natural sciences as first and college of communications second. </p>

<p>My stepmother is an alumni but never sent a dime to the school after she left--makes putting it here irrelevant but no reason to not mention it. </p>

<p>App completely submitted in late October. </p>

<p>If anyone has the time, I would be grateful if they could throw me a chance statement--ultimately nobody truly knows but opinions are welcome. </p>

<p>Download this pdf … and you can see score trends for auto admits and non auto admits. Compare your scores, knowing that only 10% admitted will be from OOS, you will need to be on the high end. Scores in CNS are higher than Communications, over the years. BEST WISHES!!</p>

<p>Oh ok…well that definitely clears it up some: I think I have a solid shot based on last year, considering also that they are lowering the ********* numbers to 75% from 85% hopefully it works in my favor :P</p>
