Senior Chances

I've posted my stats before as a junior, but now that I'm a senior and some of my stats have changed, I thought I'd ask again before I send in all my applications.

This summer I took two undergraduate courses at Boston Colleges, and got an A in one of them, and an A- in the other, for a GPA of 3.835. One of my professors is writing me a recommendation.

My volunteer work encompasses my summers of my freshman, sophomore, and junior year, during which I volunteered at my town's recreation office its summer program for kids (157.5 hours).
I've also volunteered at my school system's Future Scientists and Engineers of America (FSEA) program at the middle school during my sophomore year, but did not continue because the teacher running the program retired (15 hours).

My only "award" is perfect attendance in my sophomore year.

My biggest extracurricular is the Concert/Marching band. The time committment is roughly 10 hours a week during marching season and 5 during concert season. I have been the drum major since my junior year, which is a very big leadership position for which I had to audition. I have also been the alto sax section leader since my junior year.
In addition to that, I have been a member of my school's jazz band since junior year. This year I am the alto sax first chair which is very demanding in terms of playing skill required.
Rounding off my band extracurriculars is my membership in my school's pep band, in which I was a founding member last year.

I've also been a member of my school's academic decathlon since my sophomore year, and, though I haven't won any awards (but I've come close!), I consistently place first on my team in the regional competitions each year.

I have been a member of the school's chess club since my sophomore year, and the president for my junior and senior years.

Lastly, I've been a mentor for freshmen during my junior and senior years.

Anyway, my list of schools. If you could tell me your opinions of my chances of getting into them--assuming my essays are good and my recommendations are excellent--I'd very much appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to read my thread!

Boston College (Early Action)
Georgetown University (Early Action)

Dartmouth College
Cornell University
University of Notre Dame
New York University
McGill University
Boston University
Pennsylvania State Uniersity-- University Park (Schreyer's Honors College)
University of Massachusetts Amerst (Commonwealth Honors College)

Bump! (10 characters)

Bump again! All thoughts are greatly appreciated.

What high school in MA do you go to?

Your rank is pretty good, but your GPA isn't up there for top tier schools... Your extracurriculars are a bit weak for the ivies... It is a big reach for ivies, but I think you can get into the other schools you listed (with some luck).

Might look at Holy Cross

Thanks, but my list is finalized, I'm just looking to see what people think my chances are at the schools on my list.

Thanks for your input, bob!

Boston College (Early Action) Should we shoo-in
Georgetown University (Early Action) not likely

Dartmouth College - not likely
Cornell University - quite possible
University of Notre Dame - not likely
New York University- shoo in
McGill University - likely
Boston University - very likely
Pennsylvania State University-- University Park (Schreyer's Honors College) very likely
University of Massachusetts Amerst (Commonwealth Honors College) very likely

9 B's puts you in the top 6%? Even with the most rigorous courseload, at an average public school... damn. I want to go to your school.

Anyway, I can only echo what everyone else is saying. Dartmouth is a huge reach, Georgetown is a pretty big reach, Cornell is a tossup, Notre Dame is a small reach and you'll probably be admitted to everything else. As for Boston... you're in their 50% range for everything. Pretty safe.

Take in mind that Notre Dame ignores the writing section of the SAT I. So you have a 1390/1600, a very good score. ECs are so-so. No genuine time commitment to any one thing.
