Would the rigor of my senior schedule even matter in college applications if I apply by November?

Yes.

Yes - even if you apply prior to the end of your second quarter/first semester marking period, colleges will still receive a self-submitted senior schedule that you provide on the Common App. If you are applying early for Regular Decision (for scholarship consideration, priority review, etc) - colleges will receive a midyear report before making a decision. Even in the Early Action/Early Decision round, colleges will still receive a midyear report to monitor your performance in your classes.

tl;dr - Don’t take 6 study halls.
