Senior Class Schedule???

Hi everyone! I wanted to get thoughts about the best schedule for me if Duke is my dream school. Here is my current senior schedule (I’m a junior right now).
Marketing (full year)
AP Stats
AP Calc Ab
AP Physics C
AP lang
Marketing (full yr)
Gov (one sem)
late arrival (full year)
early release (one sem)

I am debating whether or not to take AP Gov, a year long course which would then make me lose my early release. I am not sure if I will be able to handle 5 AP classes with it being senior year and also my class load is pretty difficult; however, will Duke be likely to think that I’m not pushing myself enough with an early release and just regular gov (especially with most of my class taking AP gov)? Should I get rid of my early release?? I don’t want to die my senior year but if it will be beneficial it’s whatever. Please let me know your thoughts!!

Duke wants you to take the most demanding curriculum available to you and to demonstrate success in doing so. Take from that what you want. If you don’t think you can handle 5 APs, it’s better to show success in a slightly lighter course load from a mental sanity perspective and probably an admissions perspective, but I will say the “late arrival” and “early release” do sound like easy courses. :wink: No foreign language? Is Calc BC offered at your school? Good luck.

You’ll be fine. Your courses matter very little in comparison to everything else included in your application. As long as you are challenging yourself and taking advantage of what your school offers, I am sure you’ll be fine.

@bluedog I took 4 years of Spanish before this and I didn’t take calc ab this year so my school doesn’t offer me bc. thanks for the comment :)) and I feel like I might take ap gov early release does sound easy now that I think of it :wink:
