Are senior classes really that important? I see people on this site taking 6 AP's, which seems mildly ridiculous. I'm not taking all gut classes, but I didn't really go ridiculous either

yea they are but only so that the colleges see are you challenging yourself cause thats the only thing they really see about your senior yr. they hate to see that you decided to totally slack off. overloading on unnecessary APs is kinda ridiculous unless you have nothing left to take

Eh, I don't get all the hype. I don't see the point in making your senior year a living hell. Granted, I don't think you should completely slack off...but I don't think you should torture yourself either. All of my core classes this year are Honors, but I do have my fair share of 'fun' classes, along with a few 'blowoffs.' But hey, the way I see it is...I've worked my butt off for three long years, why can't I take a few classes that I want to take?

IB Math Methods (Higher Level)
IB Bio II
IB Theory Of Knowledge - not bad
IB English V
IB Physics II
IB Spanish V
IB World Topics

this year sucks (same schedule as my junior year except add IB Comp Sci instead of Theory of Knowledge)

It's important to do well because it would look strange to a top university that you bust your ass for 3 years, then slack off and take easy classes the last year. Some of us are relegated to a difficult senior year because of IB. That just makes life a living hell. I wish I had an easy year.
