Senior Course Load

The time to decide schedules is nigh, and I’d appreciate a few opinions as to what to do! I’m interested in going into Geology but am a stronger student in English/Social Studies than in Math.

It’s shaping up:
AP Lit
AP Calculus AB
AP Human Geography
Computer Science Principles
AP French
AP Macroeconomics?? the teacher is very cool and I think the subject matter is pretty interesting but idk how it looks in terms of rigor

And then as far as sciences go, I’m not entirely sure. I took AP Physics 1 this year and was slayed…the teacher is very difficult for me to learn from. So, I don’t feel too enthusiastic about taking AP Physics 2. I have an interest in AP Chemistry but I just remember the opening unit of AP Bio reviewing all those bonds and such being such a drag.

Other options as far as the sciences go include Microbiology, Forensic Science, and Marine Science/Astronomy/Botany (semester courses). I really like AP Bio right now and Earth Science was heavenly…what would be relevant to take senior year in this case? Or should I just go with what looks most enjoyable?

Trust me i know the feeling of getting played in ap physics1. And your schedule looks very rigorous for any college period. For sciences, if you didn’t like or did well in physics don’t take ap physics 2. AP Chem at my school is death, but if you think you can do decent go for it. You have 5 AP classes on your schedule now and that is rigorous enough. For your science class pick whatever interests you trust me. I’m in 7 ap’s now and it honestly isn’t worth it because i don’t enjoy any of them besides u.s. history. Anyways, if you like earth science take it.

Hadron, if you’re considering going into geology, you should take physics, chemistry, and math in high school. Bonus if they’re AP. I think it’s great that you’re taking geography as that’s a popular minor for geology majors and vice versa. Many geology majors interested in the humanities/ social sciences also switch to geography or take classes in the field to supplement their education.
