Senior Course Selections

This year, I took AP Physics C: Mech. I was originally planning to take E&M next year, but not enough people signed up ( 2 to be exact ). So they had to cancel the class. Therefore, I chose AP Chem as my 2nd choice. That's all well and good, until today. My counselor just told me that they canceled the AP chem class ( I guess because the teacher is incompetent but they didn't want to look for a new one ).

Now, I have two choices: AP Bio and AP Computer Science. I'm really not into Biology ( I didn't like it when I took Honors Bio freshman year), but I'd like to keep the strength of my schedule intact. I really would love to learn programming, especially when I plan to major in Applied Computational Math, but I'm worried that AP Comp Sci would look like a weaker substitute when it comes to college admissions.

I chose AP Comp Sci, but I still have time to switch out if it's going to hurt me. I'm looking to apply to Ivies and Ivy-comparable schools as well, so I'm worried.

anyone? 20char

Stick with AP Comp Sci since you’re actually interested in it. It won’t ruin you, but it may hurt a bit. If you want you can ask your school if you can do an independent study period for AP Physics. Definitely don’t switch to bio if you won’t enjoy it.

so it WILL hurt me? Damn it…

and we don’t have an independent study period (I go to a Catholic school, so I have to take religion).

^But you may be able to independently study Physics in the period you would have had Comp Sci.
