@mhuff7716 It was already a slim chance to begin with.
@Nedcone why u say that?
^Because, depending on colleges, the odds in the RD round are between 3 and 10%.
@mhuff7716 , please don’t get your hopes up about an Ivy school, or the others, because the odds are terrible for anyone and it is now very late in the process. They have soooo many qualified applicants, and only so many spaces. In your shoes, I would assume you won’t get accepted, and if you do, it’s a very nice bonus. Think about the percentages. 97% will be denied in RD round at many of those schools. I would do more research inot the colleges that have made you offers to determine whihc one you will like best. It is wonderful that you have been offered some great accpetances so far, and I really hope things work out for you.
Did you go to your GC’s this morning and did your GC get the message sent out immediately?
What are all your choices so far and what’s their net price?
Net price = (tuition+fees+room+board) - (scholarships+grants)
Try to think of your possibilities and, as Lindagaf said, consider anything else as a “nice bonus”.
Did you submit your AP scores? That could have hurt you a bit in the process.
@MYOS1634 I did go this morning before school and she is sending out an email.
Can your parents afford room&board at Bama?
Full Ride = Barksdale Honors or Provost?
UGA is overall a better university than either Ole Miss or Bama, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed. The Honors Program here is really good. When do you hear back?
Sorry for the repost above… no idea where it came from… please diresgard.
@MYOS1634 just an update: waitlisted at vandy! honestly i am pretty happy. i was afraid they would be all rejections.
@mhuff7716 I’d love to know where you ended up. Hope things are going well for you.
OP, I’m glad to hear that you GC is helping now.
It’s too late for you, but for other posters (and to help you to understand one possible explanation for BC’s rejection): most of the competitive colleges lay out what they want from students. BC, for example, says:
If you are not planning/able to meet that it’s important to explain that in your application- ideally by the GC.
I hope that the email from your GC helps. It’s hard to see a conscientious, motivated student be let down by a lack of information or support. Best of luck- and congrats on your acceptances to date.
