Senior First Quarter Grades

Hi,

I'm a senior in high school, and I'm applying to Dartmouth RD. For my first quarter senior grades, they haven't been stellar in Physics...I had a B during midterm. My final grade will be an A because I've pulled it up. How bad will this affect decisions? My final grades come out in February, and that will probably be after they start judging the applications. The thing is, the class average for that class is a 44%, which is an F. If I explain it in my application, will that be better?

Thanks for anyhelp.
