My friend got a D, B-, A and a C in this year(senior).
His GPA before his senior year was 3.9(with 1 AP), and he knew he would get low marks, so he printed out all the transcripts he will need for admission before the grading day(with 3.9 on it). Now he is not even coming to school to finish his college applications for a week now.
btw he's applying to all the top college with that.
Wouldn't he get disqualified when he sends his mid year grade report?

is this "friend" you.

If so, you are the stupidest person I have never met. If not, your friend is

Most "top colleges" require the counselor to send in the official transcript with the application forms. I don't think he'll get disqualified, he just may not get accepted in the first place.

I don't know of any school that will take the transcript from the student. It must come directly from the school. Unless you're applying ED, our hs won't even send transcripts until after first marking period ends, because the colleges are just going to ask for updated ones anyway.

Your "friend" is screwed, unless he/she went ED.

u are screwed. bring it up 2nd quarter or you have no chance at top schools.

Does the school offer many APs and he had taken just one? Are the senior grades in AP classes? Something doesn't feel right here. Ususally in these situations the record prior wasn't so stellar. So if he had high grades in regular classes and then started higher level classes and did poorly, no top college will happen.

Hey, I am not this guy I am talking about. I got 4.0 solid and I am indeed very proud of it.

Yeah, if you look at Oregon's previous posts, he doesn't fit the profile, so back off a little.

Your friend is.. screwed. Most colleges (especially top ones) request Mid-Year reports. Even if he gets accepted, the offer will be rescinded by a top university.

But the reason I brought this up was because I still have 4.0, but I got A- on two of the AP classes that I started this year. Do you think it's okay?
I am taking 4 AP's and 2 college course at a near-by college, so I was a bit busy with all the standarized test and stuff.

A- and even B's are fine.. multiple C/D's are unacceptable.

In the first quarter kids are so busy with college apps as well as having to adjust to a usually tougher course load in senior year that even B's are OK. I agree that C 's look bad.

Is having 2A 3B+ 2B fine? I'm taking 4APs and the grades are unweighted.

CR, you are fine. Of course depends on the school you are applying to, but most will not mind B's in first quarter if you had mostly A's in the earlier years. You have another 3 quarters to improve.

thank you for your advice collegebound. I really appreciate it.

I had three Bs, 1 B+ (91), AND 4 As

I'm taking 7 IB classes and 1 Regular.
