Freshman year I got a 3.7, Sophomore year I got a 3.8 and last year i got a 4.0 so i expected to get a 4.0 this year but right now my gpa is only a 3.6 (granted, i'm taking 4 AP classes out of 7 classes)

Should i not even bother applying to Brown or Rice or Tufts? These are my top choices but with my grades this quarter i don't think i would get into any of them.

Any advice?

Definitely still apply. Your ECs might wow them, and your grade has been amazing so far, except for Senior year. Do you know for sure you will send in Senior first semester grades? Also, try EA or ED to one of them, so you don’t have to send in Senior grades.

Chance me? <a href=“Claremont Mckenna, Duke, Bucknell, Grinnell, UofR chances! - #22 by wohs2015 - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/17632219

Have you even received your first quarter grades yet, or are you just projecting? I don’t think this should deter you from applying, but would strive to improve those grades going forward.

Many colleges, and definitely Rice and Tufts, require first quarter grades for ED applicants.
