how much does senior grades matter?
do colleges really consider mid-year reports?
i know colleges usually tell you to maintain like a B average after you get accepted, but what about right before??

I had the same question as well. I’m a valedictorian applying to Ivies, with my first choice at Princeton. I’ve never received a B for a marking period (half-semester) in high school. However, AP Spanish is hard as HELL and I might have a high-B this MP. At extremely competitive schools, how significant is this?

Yes, for RD they consider mid-yr reports, why would they ask for them if they didn’t?

Before decisions is just like the rest of HS, higher is better.

IMO, one B mid-term isn’t going to change the decision, even at an uber select college.

A lot of people on this site talk about how senior grades could hurt them, but I’m in the opposite position. I had a bit of a slip-up sophomore year but I improved tremendously junior year and this year. I’m taking five AP classes and an honors class. I’m wondering if one or 2 B/B+'s would make an impact. I’m not fishing for compliments here, I really want to know if that makes any difference at all.

Many top-notch colleges look at your senior year grades to see whether you’re slacking off or remaining steady. I think it plays a small-medium factor in their admission decisions.
I don’t think two B’s is going to kill you though, if you have other great grades.
