How important are your first term or semester senior grades when applying to colleges? Also, I am taking challenging courses so will colleges look at that aspect and not that I don't feel like doing the work? Could a good GPA and SAT scores make up for this?

your senior grades are important. It’s great that you’re taking a challenging course load --but you need to do the work too:) Good Luck!!

Your first semester grades aren’t going to effect you too much unless there’s a major drop from your junior year grades. However, if you do poorly first/second semester, they can give you restrictions once accepted.

what about an upward trend?

I can’t believe it… I’ve been showing a huge upward trend until this semester,
I’m getting all As except for one C- in AP Physics… it might soon become a D at this state… how will the adcoms view this? (btw, i take 2 other AP courses and one college course)
