Senior grades

So...Harvard recommends that its applicants submit the Common App and the Harvard supplemental form by December 1st. But that would mean that if I were to submit my app December 1st, I would not have my final senior grades on my transcript...Do I send the grades later, or what?

Also, do you need a counselor rec? I’m not too close to the counselor, but everyone on CC has had a counselor write up a rec for them…Or are they submitting a counselor rec as one of the teacher recs? And if I have any supplemental recs where do I include them? with the other recs?

lol sorry for all the questions… just confused

First semester grades are reported on the Mid-year School Report.

Counselors fill out the Secondary School Report. They can either write an evaluation in the space provided on this form or attach a letter.

When I applied I provided each teacher with their own pre-addressed, stamped envelop, meaning the two recs were mailed separately. Another option is to have your teachers submit recommendations online, as both of mine later decided to do. Regardless of your chosen method, any supplementary letters should probably be mailed separately. Keep in mind that most accepted applicants did not send supplementary recs. If they truly add something to your application then by all means submit them. Just remember that they are in no way required.
