I'll just give some basic stats.

3.58 GPA uw
4.62 weighted
top 20%
1330 CR/M (2050/2400)

I have a lot of leadership, president of a club, VP of a few, tennis is a hobby, started a charity, very rigorous and nationally ranked high school (one kid visited Harvard and said the admissions guy recognized the name of my school right away), glowing rec letters it that helps, fortunate that cost isn't an issue

I REALLY want to go to Notre Dame, Emory is my second choice

But what colleges do you think would accept me and be a good fit?

If we knew your major, interests or even preferences in choosing a college we may be able to help you.

I would say ND is a reach for you, unless you have a legacy there.

I don’t need an exact match regarding interests or preferences, just something that fits my stats… I just need a rough idea of what colleges I should be looking at

If you loved Notre Dame you would probably like Rice, Vanderbilt, and Duke. Of course those are all very good schools and would probably be reaches, but it can’t hurt to try. You could look at the Claremont schools. USC may be a good match academically. But it is a larger school.

what is your GPA if honor is +.5 and APs are +1? I’m not sure how to interpret your weighting system. is it out of 6?

Also Santa Clara maybe. You would be a bit above average there.

Vanderbilt and Duke are on my list as super reaches haha. You really think I have a shot at USC??

I honestly don’t know how weighted GPAs at my school are calculated but I know they’re not any different from other schools. My school requires a ton of AP and IB classes so that should explain the huge difference in the GPAs haha.

Thoughts on Emory, Wake Forest, Colgate, UVA, BC?

You should have a realistic shot at admission to schools outside the top ~30 USNWR National Universities and top ~30 National LACs. Some schools in the 21-30 range (or so) could be realistic reaches. Most of the top 20 would be long reaches or out-of-reach.

At Notre Dame, 75% of enrolled students had SAT-CRs of 660 or above; 75% had SAT-Ms of 680 or above; 89% ranked in the top 10%. If you’re below 2 or 3 of those marks, I’d say admission is very unlikely.

The only way to know for sure is to apply and wait. Meanwhile, if your school has Naviance, you can try plugging in your stats to see outcomes for applicants from your school with similar stats.

You also can use an online college matcher to find schools that fit your stats and preferences.
