Senior Honors Thesis and Law School Admissions

How much of a difference can writing a senior thesis make? Of course, the answer would be that 'it can't do anything but help', but choosing between a year-long thesis and two interesting coures for my senior year, would I be foolish to refrain from writing a thesis?

I've been at Oxford for the year basically doing independent, advisor-guided research, and frankly, I'm getting pretty sick of it.

But if there's a clear benefit, I'll probably end up shouldering the burden.

Thoughts?

Writing a thesis is excellent preparation for law school. However, I would not describe you as foolish if you refrain from writing a thesis. Unless you have a solid desire to do additional independent research, you may not benefit adequately from the experience of writing a thesis.
