I have posted this question on another college thread, so it is the burning question for me. Again, I can only hope the responses are genuine.......What is the job situation for graduating seniors? Do you have a job lined up? What is the job and what was your field of study? Did W&M do a good job of bringing in employers to recruit? What will be your starting salary? Landing a good job at the end of the 4 years is crucial and I would hope the college would help in that process. If you could share your experiences (good or bad), seniors, it would be appreciated.

I can only speak for the bschool. I am only a junior, which you may or may not know is when the job search really starts if you are serious about it. As a finance major there are a good amount of companies coming in to recruit including a handful of decent consulting firms (no m/b/b but the likes of Accenture, IBM, Booz Allen), corporate finance jobs and Investment Banking. Unfortunately there is only 1 New York firm that really recruits here (Deutsche Bank) that takes ~2-3 kids a year, but there are also a slew of regionals. The Big 4 plus others come here so you're set if accounting is your thing. Marketing and OIS majors go for some of the same stuff as Finance majors do but there are some other firms that come but I'm not too familiar with them.

I'm a junior as well... and really not looking at all for a job post graduation yet. I'll deal with it when the time comes. I'm busy enough right now.

I am possibly looking into local Williamsburg area Americorps programs.

There are decent opportunities in the career center, so it's always best to go there and see what they have. For me, I decided not to go through their route and applied at several law firms looking for paralegal jobs since I plan on law school in the near future, and the W&M degree is definitely separated me from other applicants. Of course, the interview and other things you do in college will count too, so W&M's rep alone can't get you a great job of course.
