Senior! Please Chance Me!

Hi! I'm currently a senior and trying to decide whether or not I have a chance at being accepted to the following schools. I'm interested in studying biology and environmental studies and would like to pursue a pre-med track. I know that some of these are definitely reaches.
- Vanderbilt
- Brown
- Wake Forest
- University of Maryland College Park (in-state and honors college)
- Gettysburg
- Clemson (and honors college)
- Swarthmore

My stats are:
- GPA: 3.95 (unweighted)
- ACT: C:32 M: 29 E: 33 R: 30 S:35 Writing: 8 (superscore 33)
- Rank: n/a (school doesn't rank)
- Honor Roll
ECs:
- JV Tennis: 9,10,11,12 (co-captain 11)
- USTA Junior Team Tennis: 11
- Volunteering with adults with developmental disabilities: 10,11,12
- Internship shadowing a doctor: 12
- Environmental Science Internship: 10
- Rho Kappa Kappa (history honor society): 11, 12
- Science National Honor Society: 11, 12
- Sigma Tau Delta (English honor society): 12

Thank you!!

I forgot to add that I will have taken 7 AP courses by the time I graduate. AP English Language (4), AP Environmental Science (4), AP U.S. History (5), AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, AP English Literature, and AP French

Bump!!

Vanderbilt is a reach. If you want to increase your chances, Vandy has been known to love accepting high-stats applicants - try to increase your ACT or attempt the SAT. Vanderbilt doesn’t superscore the ACT either. I think they have a very good acceptance rate for those with very high GPA’s and test scores (and your GPA is excellent). I can’t find the statistics right now, but maybe someone else can chime in or I’ll update when I find them.

Swarthmore is also a reach, but it is for everyone. You are definitely competitive, but you will have to write stellar essays. Cliche techniques for any selective LAC.

Can’t say for the rest, I don’t know them that well.

Vanderbilt and Brown are reaches. Your ACT score is very good, but it is in the lower range for acceptances at those two colleges. Can you take the SAT this fall? I hate exhorting students to keep pushing for higher scores, but a slight improvement might put one of those schools (especially the notoriously test-conscious Vanderbilt) into a high-match/low-reach category. Swathmore is quirkier (Brown can be a little quirky, too), and so it’s a tough college to chance you for. You are certainly qualified academically. I suppose I’d classify it as a high-match/low-reach. I think Wake Forest is a very solid match, and you will probably get some merit aid there. Clemson and MD are academically safe for you; I’m not sure about their Honors programs, but I think you should probably qualify.

For Pre-Med might add Holy Cross and Tufts.

Thank you all! I don’t plan on taking the ACT again. The 32 was a huge surprise! I’ll look into Holy Cross and Tufts.

vandy high match low reach
wake same as vandy

I agree with the above users. Vanderbilt is a low match
