I was in the school library today as a volunteer to clean and prepare the library for the school year when it was brought to my attention by some other kids that the schedules were mostly done and that there seemed to be lots of conflicts. You see, my school does block scheduling, with 6 out of 7 blocks every day, for a 7 day rotation (I think....I can't really remember, they've changed it so many times over the years). Anyways, I went down to the guidance department to check, and come to find out, there was one conflict.

As it stood when I scheduled my classes, I would be taking APs Bio, Chem, English Lit, Spanish, Calc, and Honors Psychology....unfortunately, because there is really one one block for each of those classes, Honors Psychology wouldn't fit into the schedule. I tried filling one of my study period blocks with a class, but there were practically no classes that would fit (my school isn't the greatest with class scheduling apparently).

So, I guess my question is, do you consider 5 AP classes (now my only classes this year) a "challenging workload" for senior, or should somehow reconsider my options to fit in another class?

For goodness's sake, 5 APs is more than many admitted students took in their entire high school careers, much less one year! I'd say if you're worrying about 5 APs being a challenging workload... don't. If you want a 6th elective course and can fit one in and find one you're interested in, go for it. But the courses you'll be taking seem plenty challenging.

haha, thanks mootmom....i must say, you are so awesome for helping everyone out....you deserve an award of some sort.....how about a virtual cookie! hands virtual cookie to mootmom....enjoy!

and as for the 5 APs...ya, I'm sort of crazy to be thinking it's not going to be challenging....I'm going to need to two study periods to do all my homework!...and that is, when I'm not volunteering in the library!

When second semester of senior year rolls around and you're an accepted student and know where you're going, mark my words, you'll be glad you didn't take 6 classes.

ya...thats true scorp. Now that I think about it, between my ECs and ridiculous work weeks, I'm already going to have to squeeze in all my homework....and once rehearsals start for the spring musical....ya....let's just say I'm happy my school locks grades after the second term
