I'm gonna keep this short and sweet.
I'm a senior taking 6 AP classes and one pre-AP class. I also have a regulars philosophy class that doesn't count in my GPA. Those classes are:
AP English Lit
AP Gov/AP Economics
AP Physics C: Mechanics
AP Calc AB
AP Studio Art
Pre-AP French III
Philosophy
Off Period

I'm applying to Yale and Princeton. Ranked 2nd in class and thats not gonna change. So does my schedule look too "easy"? How will that off period affect me? (Besides keeping me sane...)

Considering you have six AP classes, I don’t think it would be too detrimental. I just posted a thread and my schedule had consisted of seven APs, and I was being urged to drop a few. Six APs is a ton, and some require a lot of work/ are pretty difficult, (mainly referring to Physics C) so an off-period would probably be a good idea.

Many people at my school take like 8 AP classes and have no off periods. I just wanted a little perspective, that’s all. I do appreciate all the comments though. Sarcastic or otherwise.

To be honest…your only worries are AP Calc and Physics. Gov and Economics are good and then you have art. Lit depend on your school, but you just need to find time to read and whatnot for that class.

You have a free period? Are you kidding me? No college will accept you! Obviously they have no consideration for student health, and expect you to take 8 AP’s. Good luck failing at life bro, you slacker.

All sarcasm aside, I really don’t think your schedule will hurt you. All colleges want to see is that you’ve challenged yourself, which you definitely have. There is no need to overload yourself. I was actually in the same situation; I had the option of taking 8 AP’s too. But I dropped a few (i.e. Italian and Environmental) because I wanted, as you said, to remain sane, and also to relax. It won’t hurt your college chances at all.
