Senior Schedule: Micro vs. US Gov?

I've asked a similar question before here, but this one is more specific to social studies classes. This is my senior schedule so far:

Core classes:
AP English 12 Literature and Composition (year long)
AP Calculus AB (year long)
AP Spanish Language (year long)
Physics Honors (year long)
AP Macroeconomics AND Blank

Electives:
AP Computer Science (year long)
Teaching assistant (semester long)
Humanities (required semester long course)

In the [Blank], I'm debating on taking either AP Microeconomics or AP US Government and Politics. At our school, AP Micro is harder than AP Gov, but when I take it, AP Micro will be in its second year ever being taught at our school. AP Gov is a joke, but I'm more interested in AP Micro. However, I hear that colleges expect some sort of government class on your transcript before you graduate. For some background, I'm interested in pursuing some sort of STEM major in college.

Help me resolve this conflict of interest? Thanks in advance.

I have never heard that colleges expect you to take a government class in high school. I certainly didn’t and I still go to a pretty decent school, double majoring in Bio and English. I’d take whichever you prefer, unless you want to boost your GPA, in which case, take the easier class.
