Will having senior release reflect badly on me even if all 5 of my classes will be AP?

If by senior release you mean getting a couple Bs, then no. If it means getting a mix of Cs and Ds then yes, that would be a red flag for college admissions. I really do believe that most college admissions officers have a heart and know that seniors want to enjoy their last year in grade school. So long as you're still participating in all of your previous ECs, doing a little worse than usual on your midterm should not affect admissions one way or the other.

.... I thought by senior release that means you take less classes.

And if that's what you meant, then yes, it will be reflected badly.

Yes, senior release means getting out early and therefore havnig two less classes. So do you recommend that I take a full schedule? I would definitely not be taking 7 AP courses.

REALLY???? What if you take 5 APs as well, but instead of the normal 8credits you take 7, and then can leave early at the end of the day (an extra study hall)? I mean the courses would be competitive still, just one less non competitive course.

I say it depends on what you are doing with the release time and why. I know a student who did this to take afternoon classes at Curtis (look that one up). Didn't hurt her at all--she went to Yale.

Thanks for the input. I will be spending that extra time wisely. I'll be working as well as volunteerinig at the hospital.
