Senior Scheduling

Our scheduling is happening right about now...

Would this kind of schedule be too demanding for senior year?

AP Literature
AP Art History
AP Spanish
AP Physics
AP French
AP Gov/Econ

Would it be better to just take multivariable calculus instead of two foreign languages?

Too demanding? It depends on what you want to do with your life right now. Obviously, you shouldn’t slack off senior year, but if you have any doubts about handling what you’ve got there plus ECs and any other outside interests, then pull something out. Questions you should think about are: what are your interests? your planned major or career? do these teachers have a reputation for giving a lot of/a little homework? or have you been dying to take any of these classes for a particular reason?

I can’t answer the calc vs. language question, because I’ve never taken an AP language class or multivariable calc. MV might “look” better, but if it doesn’t interest you or the teacher isn’t great, then don’t go for it. Personally, I’d love to be in two foreign languages (right now I’m in a total of zero). I also wish I’d been able to take more APs this year (signed up for 4, am currently in 2, one of which is independent study. The beauty of scheduling problems). So… there are my two cents.

I’m going in circles here, so let me cut to the chase: this is something only you can figure out.

Unless you’re going into foreign relations or anything of that sort, I’d say take calc

I would say take calc. A lot of colleges like to see a math your senior year.
