Senior Year 1st Semester Grades in College Admissions Process (RD)

I know that senior year grades defiently matter once you get accepted into a college because colleges might recind you if you do not keep up with good grades.

However, how much of a role (especially first semester for RD) do they play in the actual admissions process. I have to submit all my RD apps before January 1st, but my school doesnt give their first semester grades until mid-January.

Since RD decisions do not come out until March, do counselors have to mail the grades to colleges and will colleges consider them in the admissions process, as something that carries the same weight as junior year grades? I am talking about the actual grades, not just the list of classes that you are taking senior year.

Do most colleges request this? Or do colleges only care about grades once you are accepted?

I am just wondering because if senior grades first semester grades count, then it might help me.

Thanks

Anybody? thanks.

Yes, most colleges request a mid-year report when the grades become available. My high school for example uses our term 1 grades if we are applying early, or they can’t send out grades yet.

I would say that senior year grades definitely do count, or at least the fall of your senior year. It’s one of the few things you control, and colleges want to see that you are serious about the work.

1st semester of senior year is where you should try to kick ass. these grades definitely count for colleges looking at you for regular decision.

Treat 1st semester like you treated junior year. 2nd semester is the time to slack off, but not too much.
