Hey:
So I need some help making up my mind about the number of AP classes I should take senior year, I stuck between 4 or 5 AP classes.
This year, junior year, I took only 2 APs (APUSH and AP Biology) because my schedule could not be adjusted for another class and there were some scheduling misunderstanding.
In my senior year, my currently planned schedule is:
AP Literature
AP French
AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP Civics/Economics H
The “for-sure” classes that I plan to take are: AP Lit, AP French, AP Calc AB, and AP Chem. But I am pondering whether I should take AP Civics/Econ H along with all of the other classes that I am going to take.
What are your opinions? My parents are all for it if I think I can do it; my tutor says that with my previous skills that I would do fine in all of the classes as long as I try; and my teachers believe that I can stand the classes. But even so, I am still a bit iffy about it, so if you do not mind taking your time to do so, please suggest away!
Give yourself a little room to breathe by leaving one class session open. Take 4. Unless you’re taking them all because you just love to learn. You’ll have lots of time in college to work yourself hard. Just a suggestion.

Hi! Thank you for your response!
Don’t worry, I am leaving an open class session, my school’s normal class schedule is composed of 6 to 7 classes. (But I also love to learn, I had original wanted to take 6 AP classes but I discouraged myself because of my clubs and ECs.) I plan to have that last slot for either a later school day or earlier release time because my school doesn’t have study hall or anything of the sort.
Well, they know you better than we do, and if they think you can handle it, you probably can. If I’m reading correctly, it’s really “only” 4.5 AP classes, since AP Gov is a semester, and the paired econ class is not AP. Additionally, AP Gov is not known to be one of the more strenuous AP’s (although that varies by school) .One thing to keep in mind is that you did not list your hidden class for the Fall semester: College Apps and Essays. Students always underestimate the time required for this.

Thanks for reminding me, I remember the College Apps and Essays, I have already started outlining my UC Personal Insight. Also, at my school those two aren’t really hidden; in the first 4 months of school, seniors have a near daily “class” with the counselors, where the college apps are filled out and essays written.
